Lahore, Nov 11, 2024 – – In a profound celebration of Iqbal Day, Khanqah Sultan ul Ashiqeen hosted a special Sufi Bethak (spiritual gathering) on 9th November, dedicated to exploring the timeless philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal. The event was held at the Khanqah on Sundar Adda, Multan Road, Lahore, attracting a large audience of devotees, scholars, and followers of Sufism.
Under the guidance of Sultan ul Ashiqeen, the esteemed spiritual leader of the Sarwari Qadri order, the Sufi Bethak focused on Iqbal’s teachings on selfhood (Khudi), spiritual awakening, and the quest for divine truth. The gathering aimed to inspire attendees to embrace Iqbal’s vision of a spiritually empowered and self-reliant Muslim Ummah.
During his keynote address, Sultan ul Ashiqeen emphasized the alignment between Iqbal’s philosophy and the path of Faqr, which is the hallmark of Sufi teachings. He highlighted how Iqbal’s concept of Khudi is not about ego but rather about realizing one’s divine potential through self-purification and closeness to Allah. Sultan ul Ashiqeen urged the attendees to internalize Iqbal’s message, encouraging them to awaken their inner strength and contribute positively to society.
The Sufi Bethak also featured recitations of Iqbal’s poetry, shedding light on themes of spiritual revival, self-discovery, and the importance of inner freedom. The soulful verses resonated deeply with the audience, reminding them of Iqbal’s call to rise above materialism and embrace a life of purpose driven by faith and spiritual values.
The gathering concluded with a spiritual dua (prayer) led by Sultan ul Ashiqeen, invoking blessings for the unity and prosperity of the Muslim world.
Khanqah Sultan ul Ashiqeen continues to serve as a center for spiritual learning, where events like the Sufi Bethak on Iqbal Day offer a deeper understanding of Iqbal’s enduring legacy and its relevance to modern spiritual seekers.
