From a Sufi viewpoint, the growing challenges in today’s world—such as conflicts, and social inequalities—are deeply tied to the need for spiritual awareness and compassion. Sufism, a mystical branch of Islam, emphasizes the values of love, peace, and unity, which many Sufis believe are critical to solving these issues.
Sufis view conflicts as signs that people are disconnected from their true selves, not just as political issues. They believe that by looking inward to find peace and empathy, people can help heal divides in society. Sufi teachings suggest that inner peace creates harmony with others. Through self-reflection and inner calm, Sufis hope to encourage people to choose peace over conflict.
They do not like conflict between people; instead, they resolve every issue with love and peace
Sufism focuses on the inward journey and encourages the elimination of inner lusts like backbiting, arrogance, pride, vanity, jealousy, narcissism, pretension, grudges, falsehood, and sensual desires, such as the desires for appetite, sexual desires, and the lust for prominence and fame. When these inner diseases are completely removed, a person progresses through the stages of self-purification, or Tazkiyah Nafs. At this point, a person’s inner self is capable of making social decisions correctly because, while making decisions, their interests are not influenced by sensual desires. Thus, all issues are related to the nafs; when the nafs is corrected, everything is correct.
However, it is not easy to remove the desires of the nafs by oneself. We need a “doctor” in this field to help us, whom we call a Murshid. He gives us spiritual medicine and tips according to our inward states. If we follow this guidance, our inner self will one day be cured. When all issues are resolved, we see our Lord, our Creator, Allah, and attain presence in the Assembly of Prophet Muhammad. We not only gain divine vision, but we also achieve annihilation and immortality with our Lord from this higher station. The core point is to correct oneself, and then every issue is resolved.
In this era, the perfect Murshid is Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen, who carries the flag of Ism-e-Allah Zaat. When impure seekers visit his Khanqah, it removes all lust from their inner selves and ignites a fire of Divine love within them. This divine love is the key that takes the seeker from one level to the ultimate level in a moment, but the journey requires determination and consistency.
